Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a great source of extra damage and more AD or even more attaches.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They increase the performance of the item they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using an expert or higher salvage kit to recover upgrades from the items.
The amount of damage an armored piece or weapon will absorb is contingent on the extent of its upgrades. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.
There are several different types of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different impact. For instance, certain upgrades give the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item can receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
A few upgrades are magical or a combination of technology and magic, which is shown by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require a charge to use, which is indicated by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades refresh daily or never expire dependent on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to improve your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, but it can be obtained from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant improvements in stats and are worth the investment.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it can also affect its agility and speed. This is why it is typically not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces above +9, since the added defense is usually not worth the extra weight and power cost of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. item upgrades have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes weapon overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity to cause more damage) are two examples.

Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price of a set number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars are required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. In the past you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain number of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher quality. You could continue to do this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for your weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. It is better to purchase gear that has low levels of upgrade, but high base scores and stat distributions. They will also be able to give you the most prestigious benefits and blessings.
To increase their level faster, most players will be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing a stat and providing secondary effects. They can be created using a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gemstone and several reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler, with stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts will vary depending on the tier the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.
The Jeweler is able to create all kinds of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones which you must be at certain levels to gain. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with a jewel of the same kind without destroying it. You are able to replace the jewel once in an item of equipment.
It is typical to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
In addition to the above upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost in power and can be traded, but they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like traits and aegis, aren't swappable and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide many small but useful advantages to your hero. They are available in the starter area as loot or as personal story rewards. They can also be obtained through vendors and after doing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar manner as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional bonuses and abilities that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This allows a hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also compensate for the absence of excellent team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's optimal stats.
As upgrade item should be prioritized over BiS (Best in Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future. Next, any items with desirable stats that aren't as important as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade since it's generally more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
At the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and mid players will usually opt for either a pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
Aside from the things mentioned above, players can find other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, for instance completing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. You can see them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
